Types of Creatives

Creative Template Specs

Index:

This page is designed to be a guide for creating complete creatives and templates to use within the Lucit app. If you are looking for the size of the billboards for the campaign you are working with, please reach out to the appropriate sales representative as this varies.

Types of creatives –

  1. Complete Creatives – A complete creative is a creative that is completely static. It is uploaded as is. Design an ad without dynamic elements that is usually posted only once.

  2. Inventory Template – Lucit’s program can connect to back-end inventory systems and websites. It pulls photos and information from these and auto-populates a premade template. Design a template with dynamic elements that a data source will use to automatically create ads.

  3. Post Template – Through the app, clients can upload a photo and caption to a premade template. Design a template that includes a dynamic photo and caption that can be used to create multiple ads.

For more information on the different types in creatives click here.

Template Information –

For Real Estate specific information click here for brokerage and here for individual agents.

Inventory Template –

This template would be appropriate for any large inventory items managed by a back-end inventory system including automotive, recreational, agriculture, heavy equipment, furniture, lawn and garden, etc.

Creative Size:

This will depend on the billboard size(s) in the campaign. Refer to the appropriate sales representative if you are not sure.

Dynamic Fields:

Photo- Your creative will include space where a photo goes. Once the campaign is active, this space will be automatically filled by the primary photo of that inventory item from the advertiser’s back-end inventory system. If the inventory system you are referencing automatically applies a branded overlay to their images click here.

Item Details- Your creative can include various dynamic fields to be automatically filled by the advertiser’s back-end inventory system including item year, make, model, price, etc. It is the advertiser’s choice how much information they’d like included on the creative.

Non-Dynamic Fields:

The creative can also include non-dynamic fields that will remain the same on every creative such as the advertiser logo, website, address, phone number, etc. It is the advertiser’s choice how much information they’d like included on the creative.

For Inventory Systems that use overlays on their images please refer to this article.

Creative Size:

This will depend on the billboard size(s) in the campaign. Refer to the appropriate sales representative if you are not sure.

Photo- Your creative will include space where a photo goes. Once the campaign is active, the advertiser will choose a photo for this space each time they post a new creative.

Caption- Your creative will include space where text goes. Once the campaign is active, the advertiser will choose the caption for this text space each time they post a new creative.

Non-Dynamic Fields:

Best Practices

Tips and Tricks –

Finding Sample Photos / Information to Use When Designing / Mocking Up Templates
  1. Ask your account manager to invite you to the account in Lucit. Within Lucit you will be able to see their inventory, details and photos

  2. If the account data source has not yet been created, you may use photos/details from the client’s website

Best Practices
  1. When designing automotive templates, use only pictures of Used / Pre-Owned vehicles that the client took…  DO NOT use stock photos or glamour shots of new vehicles as these do not accurately represent the photos and ratio aspects of the client’s inventory.

  2. Photos will be placed in the background of the template, so you can assume some cropping around the edges depending on your photo ratio / size

  3. When designing real estate templates, design the area that will accept a user profile image for the agent at a 3:4 ratio – Standard for Headshots

  4. When designing a template in MULTIPLE SIZES.  Make sure that the RATIO for the PHOTO on each template is very close or the same across templates (e.g.  Do not put a 4:3 area on one template and a 16:9 area on another for the same design)

  5. Post templates can only accept a Photo and a Caption – We do not support multiple dynamic text fields on Post style templates

  6. We support text wrapping, and it normally looks best centered.  Our algorithm uses a best-fit for text to make it fit the area as best it can
