Learn how Banks build Automated Dynamic Billboard Ads with Real-Time Interest Rates

Dynamic CD rate ads allow banks and credit unions to update their advertised rates without redesigning or re-uploading billboard creative every time a rate changes.

With Lucit and Google Sheets, your CD terms and rates can be managed from a simple spreadsheet while your digital billboard creative updates automatically.

Video Walkthrough

Watch the full walkthrough here:

Step 1: Add the Google Sheets App to Lucit

In Lucit, open the Apps section and add the Google Sheets app to your account.

The Google Sheets app allows values stored in a spreadsheet to be used as dynamic data inside your Lucit templates.

Step 2: Duplicate the Example Google Sheet

After adding the Google Sheets app, open the provided example spreadsheet and make a copy for your organization.

This sheet will contain the structure Lucit uses to identify the values that should be available to your templates.

Step 3: Add Your CD Terms and Rates

Create one row for each CD product you want to advertise.

For each row, enter:

  • Key Name — A human-readable description of the value.

  • Key — A short, unique identifier Lucit can use inside templates.

  • Value — The current CD rate or other information you want displayed.

For example:

Key Name

Key

Value

6 Month

6month

4.3%

11 Month

11month

4.7%

18 Month

18month

4.5%

24 Month

24month

4.2%

The Key should remain consistent. When the CD rate changes, you only need to change the Value.

For example, if your 11-month CD changes from 4.7% to 4.9%, leave the key as:

11month

and simply change the value in Google Sheets to:

4.9%

Step 4: Create a New Lucit Template

In Lucit, create a new template for your digital billboard.

Design the ad as you normally would, including elements such as:

  • Your bank or credit union logo

  • The CD term

  • A large area for the interest rate

  • Supporting text such as Certificate of Deposit

  • Any required disclosures or calls to action

For digital billboards, keep the most important information large and easy to understand at a glance.

A simple layout might be:

11 MONTH CD

4.7% APY

Limited-time rate

Step 5: Add the Dynamic CD Rate to the Template

Instead of typing the CD rate directly into the design, insert the Lucit dynamic field/macro associated with the Google Sheets key you created.

For example, if the spreadsheet key is:

11month

select the corresponding 11month dynamic value from the Google Sheets data available to the template.

Lucit will replace that dynamic field with the current value from the spreadsheet.

So if Google Sheets contains:

Key

Value

11month

4.7%

the billboard will display:

4.7%

The important part is that the template remains connected to the key rather than containing a hard-coded rate.

Step 6: Create Additional CD Rate Creatives

You can repeat the same process for your other CD products.

For example:

  • 6-month creative → uses the 6month value

  • 11-month creative → uses the 11month value

  • 18-month creative → uses the 18month value

  • 24-month creative → uses the 24month value

You can create separate templates for each term or incorporate multiple dynamic rates into a single design.

Step 7: Update Rates from Google Sheets

Once the templates are configured, you don't need to edit the billboard creative when a rate changes.

Simply open your Google Sheet and update the Value.

For example:

Before

11month → 4.7%

After

11month → 4.9%

Lucit can then use the new value in the connected creative.

This makes it easy for marketing teams to keep rate advertising current without rebuilding and redistributing creative every time rates change.

The Basic Workflow

Google Sheets → Lucit Google Sheets App → Dynamic Template → Digital Billboard

Your spreadsheet becomes the place where CD rates are managed, while Lucit handles incorporating those values into your billboard creative.

The result is a digital billboard campaign where the design stays the same while the rates can be updated dynamically.
