How to Handle a Branded Overlay

What is an Overlay?

Some companies, especially automotive ones, use a branded overlay on their inventory images. When the image goes into their system it automatically applies it. See the example below.

InventoryPhoto id: 1844212

Why Does it Matter?

Because Lucit pulls from their inventory system, the overlay will be pulled through to Lucit with the overlay. Templates will be set up to enlarge the photo area beyond the space that will actually show so that the overlay will not be seen in the creative. When designing an inventory template, be sure that the dynamic area for the photo crops out the overlay. In other words, the aspect ratio for the area of your design where the photo would go must reflect the aspect ratio of the photo assuming it has been cropped to exclude the overlay.
